Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle is inviting the youth to take part in the launching of the “Laudato Si Gen” (Generation) on June 22, 7 a.m. at the Quezon Memorial Circle in Quezon City.

“I am calling on the young generation to participate in the event so that at a young age, you will already be oriented with the need to care for our environment, the world, and for others. Let us take care of our environment and the world we live in which will be inherited by the future generation,” His Eminence said over Church-run Radio Veritas.

Tagle stressed the need for the youth to learn to care and protect the environment to live out Pope Francis’ encyclical on the environment “Laudato Si.” It is necessary to learn the value of environmental care and protection at a young age, the cardinal said, because doing so is an expression of genuine concern for others.

“By living right and living a life that supports and respects the environment, we will be able to pass on a better world to the next generation,” Tagle said.

Balanga, Bataan Bishop Ruperto C. Santos and San Fernando, La Union Bishop Daniel Presto have expressed support for the holding of the “Laudato Si Gen,” in celebration of the fourth year of the Holy Father’s encyclical on the environment.
